black flowers

black flowers - i grew from a stone to a statue (bo'weavil 2009)

"The music references repeatedly the cyclical nature of life, in both the form and the lyrics. "I've seen them all rise and fall." With that, the inevitable break in the cycle. "For the Lord knows who must die." Another reminder to live in the now. And this is what it sounds like." bo'weavil

tom james scott

"Tom James Scott is a young classically trained guitarist, a mainstay of the improvising collective CYRK. Tom's influences stretch far and wide, touching upon aspects of traditional music, improvisation, vocal music, composition, and field recording to name but a few. These 5 slices of acoustic alchemy are well formed compositions for acoustic guitar, where the wealth of folk guitar has been distilled through a minimalist mind set to create some of the most beautiful elemental melodic lines that take the listener on a journey of meditative contemplation." bo'weavil

tight meat duo

"Tight Meat, a duo of the fantastic free drummer Alex Neilson and the fiery sax of David Keenan. A powerful onslaught of free jazz with David providing some high energy saxophone screams alongside Alex' plethora of rhythmic energy. "Like all the great visionary thinkers of our time, from Iggy Stooge to Arthur Doyle, David Keenan and Alex Neilson are autodidactic polymaths devolving advanced thought back to punk-primitive motion. Judging by the music heard on /Vanishing Fist/, their first salvo under the name Tight Meat Duo, these twentysomething/thirtysomething Glaswegian deviants are prime examples of the dictum that the new wave of free musicians act on impulse. They've studied and immersed themselves in some of the most life affirming vibrations of all time, those silhouettes, shadows and forecasts of tomorrow disguised as free jazz, as Sun Ra almost put it; sensed this essence flooding their synapses, rewiring their DNA, messing with the id so inherited 3D vision becomes implanted Third Eye cosmology; and now they're getting in on the aktion." Tony Herrington

donald mcpherson & tetuzi akiyama

"This LP and CD recorded in New Zealand in 2004, is the duo recording of New Zealand guitarist Donald McPherson and Japanese guitarist Tetuzi Akiyama. A beautiful meeting of 2 virtuoso acoustic guitarists, both thoroughly schooled in the vast world of improvising.
This record finds Tetuzi and Donald playing melodic folk improvisations that grow and morph into compositions that on each listening uncover some new layer of beauty. Both playing on acoustic guitar, they have a level of communication and understanding of each others playing, that allows a musical connection to grow and blossom into a full-length recording of delicate melodic mayhem.
The LP is limited hand numbered edition of 500 and the CD is limited to 1000, there are 2 extra tracks on the CD that do not appear on the vinyl version. The LP has 2 tracks that are in an extended form."
