adam beckley

"blank screens of hope, the latest release from the immensely talented and Stourbridge-based ambient artist, Adam Beckley, deserves your undivided attention. the treasure is in the details, as Adam's opaque meditative hymns are comprised of a myriad of textures and shapes that make for an enriching listening experience. in some sections it is unabashedly warm and embracing, while other tracks are more solemn... this might be the best tape yet from Koppklys. much like one holds life delicately, be at ease with this beautiful tape. to be focused on these sounds is tantamount to presenting oneself with a gift." honest bag

"Adam Beckley, a man who loves grainy, atmospheric music. I have no idea what he uses, be it guitars, be it synth, or maybe field recordings, in his four pieces he adds a fair amount of effects to obscure matters, cloud them, hide them and part erase them and make a drone trip, a cosmic journey of half dream, half sleep music. excellent stuff." vital weekly

sundrips

"for the first Sundrips release of twenty twelve, Montréalais Ryan Connolly and Nick Maturo offer a set of six tracks cut during the same era that gave us last year's very excellent Just A Glimpse cd. Dream Studies is essentially split right down the middle in terms of tone, with the A side offering huge waves of almost punishing synth drones, and the B side acting as its counterpart, calming things down with long, drawn-out waves of calm ambience, eventually climaxing on the utterly blissful final track." koppklys

sky stadium / pierrot lunaire

"like a calm spring breeze, Sky Stadium (Jeff B) offers a delicate and beautiful farewell to the long cold winter finally retreating. as life slowly starts to sprout up from the ground again, the opening side of 'Windowing' serves as a reminder of the brighter days that lie ahead.

on what could arguably be Pierrot Lunaire's (John DeNizio) most mellow offering to date, we are quickly plunged deep beneath the surface on the second side, where a much stranger world awaits. segueing stoically through a handful of really remarkable shifts and turns, we are offered a tour into a cosmos that is at once mysterious and curiously comforting." koppklys
