llevaba casi desde el invierno haciendo este compilado primaveral, siempre a punto de terminarlo, pero, inconscientemente o no, echaba de menos una canción de Günter Schlienz, una canción especial que me diese el impulso definitivo para subirlo. hay mil canciones favoritas que se han ido acumulando estos días: Inner Travels, x.r.y. (nueva cinta en Constellation Tatsu), Former Selves, Les Halles, Lake Mary, Tim Robertson, Mango Differential (Inner Travels y Opaline juntos), Metro Riders (Henrik Stelzer de Fluorescent Heights), Apenino & Árbore (micrófonos de contacto igual a magia), Tuluum Shimmering (Jake Webster debe haber compuesto catorce mil millones de canciones, y seguro que las hace en el tiempo que los demás nos comemos una bolsa de pipas...sobrenatural), Sunhiilow, Daniel Bachman, Anne Southam (de nuevo gracias a Toys and Tecniques), Dura, Raajmahal (si Pocahaunted y Christina Carter volviesen a grabar juntas, a bajísima fidelidad, y sonaran las flautillas de Tuluum Shimmering y Komodo Haunts, seguro que sonaría así), Miaux... pero la guinda ha sido poder abrirlo con la que es ahora mismo la canción más bonita del mundo: 'games at the creek' de Günter Schlienz, que resume sin quererlo el espíritu de 'music heals the soul', uno de los versos de 'art and life' del entrañable Ed Askew. 'games at the creek' es un regalo caído literalmente del cielo en el último momento. una de esas canciones clima que transcurren como en una nebulosa, que dicen tanto con tan poco y que podrías pasar la vida escuchándola. como 'art and life', como todas las que están aquí, porque al final todas comparten un mismo sentimiento, un ambiente y un estado de ánimo. gracias de corazón a Günter y Adam por compartirla con nosotros. y mil veces sí, mantengo lo que dije hace tiempo...él, y todos y cada uno de los nombres que aparecen aquí, es lo más bonito que le ha pasado a nuestro micromundo musical desde Jewelled Antler. demasiada música 'heals the soul' en el mundo. a compartir, pues ~

p.d.: y luego están un millón de canciones antiguas, auténticos hallazgos de hace más de cincuenta años, que siguen quedándose en el tintero. son tantas y tan bonitas que mi próximo compilado será única y exclusivamente dedicado a ellas.

ayer recibíamos en nuestro correo otro de esos emails cargados de entusiasmo, los que al acabar de leerlos deseas que la música te guste lo suficiente para poder recomendarla con el mismo entusiasmo de Mattson Ogg. y no sé a Mar, Adrián o Dani, pero '10.25.12/tired waves' me parece tan emocionante y precioso como sus palabras. capas y capas de guitarras que parecen teclados, algo así como si el lado más dulce, etéreo y minimalista de James Blackshaw ~esas guitarras que siempre serán cascadas de agua~ fuese editado en Scissor Tails. qué acertada la comparación con Terry Riley, por qué no, tal vez la forma de explorar el sonido cristalino de una guitarra a lo largo de muchísimos minutos, bucles interminables sin apenas subidas o bajadas, como nubes que avanzan en el cielo a ritmo de caracol. bonito, meditativo y diferente, tiene algo, los drones tan suaves, las slides que se cuelan de vez en cuando, pero sobre todo una producción, sutil, cero estridente, que a mí particularmente me encanta. de regalo y para seguir en la nube, puedes descargarte gratis su otro disco, sólo digital, editado en pocketfields

por cierto, hoy damos la bienvenida a Fran (el coreógrafo del cerro, concepto radio...), nuevo tree people in da house. mucha ilusión :)
