Looks like we covered almost every release made by this magical Baltimore duo except the previous tape on famous Sound of the Dawn which (we believe) doesn't require much presentation. Yet, the new work by Hamilton and Seal is something you truly need in your collection, especially if you're a fan of arpeggiated synth magic enforced by xylophones and cassette lo-fi goodness. It's actually a bit of a miracle that such music exists in 2018 because it sounds like it was excavated from some 70s archive of super-limited-private-press new age jams inspired by Terry Riley and tropical expeditions of Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Yet this album isn't really about relaxation or meditation, but rather adventurous, keeping the buoyant pace and intrigued mood until the end. Outbursts of psychedelic melodies are very well contrasted by repetitive seances of hazy hypnosis. Fast-forward impressions from the places never visited in person, but visited in dreams and imagination. Repetitiveness always plays with trance-like states and this music is no exception - once this tapes starts spinning it won't be out until few rounds. "Enchanted Forest" is full of fairy creatures, ghostly voices, electric birds and ephemerally sparkling phenomenons, but when you in it, you take it all as a matter of course. Their dances and voices are gorgeously mesmerizing and the trail is long lost anyway. Where's the boundary between reality and imagination, when just a music can blur it so easily? What is reality anyway? If music is just a vibration of air, why it produces such an impact? Okay, let's drop these big questions until the long winter evenings, it's summer after all! And this music perfectly fits the sunshine. Aren't we all reaching out to the light?

When I enjoy something very much it seems hard to write about it just because I have some kind of fear – so many things to express, such intense feelings... Sometimes it feels like trying to embrace the sea waves. Thinking about this tape I tried to avoid comparisons, but it's impossible not to mention Tuluum Shimmering or Dream Safari or Black Joker or early High Wolf to describe the feeling this recording gives me. Being a huge fan of 2009-11 psych drone tape music, when everything was so lo-fi, psychedelic and sweet, I can't avoid nostalgia while listening to something like this. Blissful vibes of xylophone sound, calm ambiences, tape-hiss-infused loops and weird new-agey feeling of relaxation on the edge with psychedelic revelation... So deeply warm and embracing sound, that it's almost impossible to break the listening into parts – only pressing repeat button feels like right choice. Your trip will feature tropical islands, jungle & mighty rivers, warm deserts and calm oases, therapeutic relaxation sessions, third eye opening, flying with the bees over unearthly beautiful flowers... Okay, think you already get what to expect here! So don't hesitate and grab your piece of this charming exotic beauty. Absolutely recommended and highly gratifying sounds for your inner self.

estoy muy emocionada, a veces aparece un correo de apenas tres líneas que tímidamente te recomienda su disco. sin bombo ni platillo, sin apenas información. un regalo que puedes descargarte gratuitamente o donando la cantidad que quieras o puedas. la discreción y el encanto infinito. si el anterior disco de Rod Hamilton (¿os acordáis de 'mushroom'?) era bonito, éste lo es el doble. hay más instrumentos, más melodía, más....todo. teclados que dan luz a las canciones. y todo suena como más mullido, acuoso y orgánico. y hay una canción que se llama 'treppe 3' y otra que se llama 'treppe 1 & 2' que son una alegría de principio a fin. aires guatemaltecos, mayas, ancestrales, marimbas y xilófonos como en el disco de Golden Brown o Cults Percussion Ensemble, el toque floral, tierno y juguetón de 'plantasia' de Mort Garson y las raíces y la magia tropical de 'marlene' y 'garifuna field recordings' de Stephen Molyneux. y a veces, en canciones tan evocadoras como 'dance 1-4', ese aroma añejo que tienen los discos de library music y en especial 'aquasun' de Paul Lemel & Eric Marving.

Rod vivió durante el verano pasado en Lake Atitlán en Guatemala, rodeado de volcanes y el viento Xocomil. y en ese lugar paradisíaco fue donde compuso estas tonadillas, desde el centro mismo de la tradición. la cinta de cassette se vende en los conciertos de la gira que Rod está haciendo este verano por Estados Unidos. y vuelvo a hacerme la pregunta, ¿por qué no hay un millón de sellos, de esos pequeñitos, queriendo editar esta maravilla? me alegro mucho de que los discos de Günter Schlienz, Tuluum Shimmering, o Former Selves, por poner un ejemplo, sean ya grandes pequeños nombres en este micromundo musical y funcionen como una especie de reclamo para cualquier sello. son sold out casi al instante. eso me hace feliz pero Rod Hamilton, o Sunhiilow, o M.M. Peres, por alguna razón desconocida, siguen siendo tesoros ocultos que tal vez dentro de unos años tengan el reconocimiento que se merecen. o no. sé que casi cada disco del que hablo es para mí el disco del año, pero esta cinta es tan tan bonita... nada completamente nuevo, pero todo revelador y reconfortante: sigue siendo perfecto. es el The Space Lady de los xilófonos y las marimbas.

qué felicidad abrir tu correo y encontrarte con la música de Rod Hamilton a ritmo de xilófono y marimbas saltarinas, uno de esos discos que serían una anomalía en cualquier época que aparecieran pero que no puedo evitar relacionar con los setenta, con la navidad y con algo tan especial como el disco de Cults Percussion Ensemble. demasiadas cosas bonitas en apenas veinte minutos: LeBeha Men with Stephen Molyneux, Monopoly Child Star Searchers ('ruca'!) y un torrente de sonidos bañados de exotismo, con olor a intuición, a fantasía y descubrimiento. viendo el blog de Player Press se confirman las buenas vibraciones con un recopilatorio que incluye, entre otras preciosidades, una canción de Inoyama Land.
