bear bones, lay low ~ atlantean encrypted message

UFO-cult is another funny evidence that we all live in a sophisticated virtual reality or better say a reality show. Well, think for yourself, what could be more fun for a galactic viewer than to watch naive people seriously ranting about their extraterrestrial travels, living spaceships from the Pleiades, star seeds and the Mayan calendars, messages of wisdom from Atlantis and Shambhala... Even more fun is the fact that this is all true to a degree, but the essence of the reality show lies in making homosapienses believe in half-truths and to make funny conclusions about cosmic order out of them! Changing their lives according to them and creating new, non-trivial scenarios. Thus, entertaining those who are directly related to this – the Sirians, the Atlanteans, Pleiadians, Zets, and all other 'celestials'.

Another big irony here is the fact, that creators of this show included in it an opportunity for humans to create similar shows and make fun of with each other. Well, just to make it even harder to get to the truth. Someone in another trip discovers the highest truth and all around are like 'have you seen enough of the X-Files?'. It's postmodern, and fun, and instructive! And if you start pushing it too hard, you're immediately off to secondary storylines and, as always, politicians, religious leaders and pop stars will get all prime time. Oh, and they know how to make top-rated shows. And if you have learned the whole essence and truth, it is better to encrypt it into some piece of music, or a movie, or a picture of some kind. Can be fun for others, and easier for you... You have nowhere to go off this spacecraft anyway.

bear bones, lay low / dsr lines

"this is a further journey into the electronic style I developed in “El Telonero” but this time with a darker and more urban feel. I wanted to evoke a certain Carpenteresque-sci-fi vibe with the sounds, a sort of ode/lament to modern and futuristic cities and their people, bathed in esoteric symbolism, ready for utter doom. so yeah, the dudes from Smeltkop (hit them up on fb as well) decided to put it out on tape and in 100 copies with some very nice silkscreened covers. order it from them, because I already gave all of mine away…" ernesto gonzález

"the second tape that we'll be releasing that night is DSR Lines ~ Venndiagram. DSR Lines is the modular synth project of David Edren, also known as the big boss of the antwerp based Hare Akedod label. DSR Lines are audiological explorations." smeltkop

tav exotic

"the man behind Bear Bones, Lay Low and Sylvester Anfang member Ernesto González has a brand new project called Tav Exotic with his friend Mike from Tienen. the duo just released a first sample of the kind of tropical electronics we can expect to hear from them, and needless to say both the music and visuals are quite eye-dilating. perfect sounds to reset your synapses on a sunday morning" subbacultcha

"Mike & I decided to put together (almost) all of our recordings so far of our new project in a massive 90 minute release, divided in two cd-r’s. everything here is improvised and without overdubs (except for the very first track which you can hear on the video below). It’s dancy, it’s noisey, it’s kosmische, it’s stoned and it’s cheap. Tav Exotic style. comes in a double dvd case with full color covers." ernesto gonzález

the video was made using footage from “Gateways to the Mind” (1958)

gonzalez & steenkiste • a story of rats / hellvete

"Eiderdown is proud to present the world with the debut release by Belgian duo Gonzalez and Steenkiste. G & S is Glen Steenkiste (Hellvete, Silvester Anfang II) and Ernesto Gonzalez (Bear Bones Lay Low, SA II) in their first ever release in a duo capacity. Introduced with bowed cymbals and bells, “Stuffed…” massages the dear listener with glorious waves of gradual violin, harmonium, banjo, and tampura. The heavy air is temporarily refreshed by a backporch guitar/banjo hoedown, before the cassette finishes with the massive vibe of the 19 minute closer “Paradise” …Even the birds get in on the act at some point and everyone goes home with the satisfaction of “being there”. Belgian (get) high weirdness at it’s finest."

"A Story Of Rats is back on Eiderdown after his killer LP from last year. More synth creep wizardy and this time Garek Druss’ synths and vocals are accompanied on the journey by Mr. James Woodhead (Elemental Chrysalis/At The Head OF The Woods) on guitar, voice, and bells. “The Chariot and The Wooden Spear” is an emotional tractor beam of sound, pulling the listener with slight drum pulses along a meandering path thru vales of both beauty and grimnitude. An amazing collaboration by two treasures of the Pacific Northwest’s deep vibes scene.

Hellvete is Glen Steenkiste’s solo gig, principal member of Belgian psych-improv rockers Silvester Anfang II. Hellvete has distilled his psychotropic ur-folk sound into tasty slabs of acoustic/electric drone. Alternately comforting and suffocating, these pieces created with bowed banjo, harmonium, tampura, and Casio leave the listener with the experience of shaking hands with the ghost of Angus MacLise at the crossroads of Annapurna and some nearly-forgotten Flemish forest."

'new Eiderdown on the horizon…stay tuned: Planets Around the Sun y Datashock.'

bear bones, lay low

“Vagaciones” is a collection of recordings done in my hometown San Antonio de los Altos, Venezuela and in a small village in Spain called Coín during summer 2010 and 2011 respectively. They’re all improvisations done with a minimal set up and recorded onto basic tapedecks. My intention while putting together the material on this tape was to have a more stream of consciousness approach to making music by recording for long periods during the day and documenting every moment of it. The result is a scrapbook of holiday memories contained in a sound carrier. No multi-track overdubs on this one. Editing and echo enhancement on some pieces were done in Brussels around September 2011." ernesto gonzález~bear bones
