el jueves vi the devil and daniel johnston, anteayer llamé a ana para contarle la resaca. le dije que tardé en quedarme dormido una barbaridad. me dijo que escribiese algo en el blog, le dije que no tendría grandes cosas que contar, sólo cuestionaba el por qué no haber llegado a un personaje así antes. cómo es posible que nuestros caminos no coincidiesen hasta ahora, su nombre siempre estuvo ahí rondándolo todo pero nunca pobló una de nuestras estanterías de discos. leí hace un rato que los homenajes deben hacerse en vida, pues eso es lo único que podemos hacer. colgar una foto, dejar un link a la actuación que más me ha conmovido en años e invitar a todo ser capaz de sentir a recibir el impacto de su vida, desde ya una de las personalidades más fascinantes imaginable, y no por ser o no ser esquizofrénico, una etiqueta demasiado sencilla, ridícula incluso. sólo he visto demonios una noche en 34 años, él los lleva viendo toda la vida, pero también ha visto ángeles. debe haber algo muy grande ahí, tras esa cabeza, y vivir con ese run run todos los días desde que amaneces no debe ser fácil para el que ha tenido la suerte o desgracia de ser iluminado de esa forma. me niego a creer que la medicina o la ciencia puedan condensar en una palabra una personalidad así, una vida así, con todas sus rectas y todas sus curvas por muchos accidentes que la hayan marcado. daniel johnston no es un enfermo, es un superviviente. buena suerte superhéroe.

Hold right hand, cupped near right ear; turn hand back and forth slightly with wrist. Bring left hand to opposite eye with the second finger pointing in the direction one is looking. With index and thumb of right hand, form an incomplete circle, space of one inch between tips; hold hand towards the earth, then move it in a curve across the heavens and back toward the horizon" dekorder

bob theil

lady

no sé muy bien porqué, pero hoy cuando ya estaba anocheciendo en casa renosaba bob theil y sentí una necesidad incontenible de dejarle pasear por el bosque.

el favorito sello catalán, guerssen, reeditó en un ya lejano 2006 500 copias que volaron de su maravilloso "so far" en una preciosa edición que incluía el ep "another flight" con temas inéditos . todo un rare earth de los que cada vez me cuesta más escribir y que aunque editado en 1982, en realidad todo el álbum lo compuso en los setenta, es fácil sentir ese looser pyschedelic-folk . sin palabras para lady.
