cankun

"Vincent Caylet, Cankun moniker coming from France. time for moving with electronic breezes blended with ethnic psychodelic samples...modern sounded rituals, a delicate noisey proposal." egyptian maraccas

"bouncy guitar riffs with splintering synth hits, Vincent Caylet of Archers by the Sea infinitely delays your thoughts. Don’t let pollution make your mouth dry" constellation tatsu

cankun

"St Flour de Mercoire's patron saint of sunburned guitar and electric mirages issues forth this new homage to an exquisite natural wonder in Southwestern Madagascar which Monsieur Cankun had the pleasure and privilege of witnessing first hand on a personal quest years prior. The strategies employed on last year's debut, Jaguar Dance, are in even finer form here, fusing solar flares, feathery fields of guitar blur, and skeletal groove metronomes into multi-movement trance states of sunset skyway-psych. Moods crossfade between muted, spiraling, inner space loop-cruises (“Collages,” “Stylo”) and more revved up celebratory waverunners (“Blue Vanilla”, “Jugular Rhythms”) but all share his uniquely fried tonalism and magic touch. Welcome to the waterworld of the Waterfall." nnf

archers by the sea

“Gorgeous 23-minute piece by Vincent Caylet aka Archers By The Sea (aka Cankun). Close your eyes and dive deep into this mind-melting trip of finest french psychedelia, these splendidly floating soundscapes to overcome your inner unrest.” no fear of pop

"I want to see their heads moving, kaleidoscopes in their eyes, dancing on one foot like Indians." vincent caylet

cankun

"Cankun will honour Hands in the Dark Records of its very first album release with its "Ethiopian Dreams" full length. The beach, idle, psychedelic melodies, piña coladas, burning hot sand, exotic rhythms, a blazing sun, an enchanting voice..." hands in the dark

"Here's a side-wack to the head from Archers by the Sea and Monks of the Balhill guru Vincent Caylet, called Cankun. Think of Ethiopian Dreams as a chorus of guitars that specialize in sparkly hi-end fragments and tell tale elements of drug music: shimmering psych texture, odd harmonic sense, gently lilting beats looping ad infinitum...Cankun will get you high off the glitter" impose

cankun

"French haze aesthete Vincent Caylet has been active on the marginal music frontlines in various capacities for several years at this point but Jaguar Dance is his debut outing under the Cankun parasol, and it’s a even brighter-lit hideaway of mirages to pass out in. Choppy, chiming guitars balance-beam above looping heatwaved keyboards while skittery beats glitter like a glare on the skin of the sea....Escapist, joyous, and psychedelically sunburned in equal measure..." nnf

si tuviera que elegir entre todas las transformaciones de Vincent Caylet: Monks of the Balhill, The Pistil Cosmos, "V"Archers by the Sea, ahora mismo me quedaría con la exótica brisa tropical de Cankun (con permiso de 'Grand Cornoel' de los monjes de Balhill).  'Jaguar Dance' es simplemente perfecta....relajante, fluida, agradable, envolvente, seductora, bonita. me tranquiliza saber que siempre puedo volver a ella, o a 'o mountain o', o a 'Lichens Beat'. y aunque no venga al caso pero hablando de títulos de la vida, nadie como Vicent cuida y mima todo lo que rodea a su música: 'sometimes we should dance', o 'they were floating over the mountain, they were kings', son algunos de los títulos de Archers by the Sea. en breve... 'Ethiopian Dreams'.

"v"

"High altitude glass ceiling echoes over low canopy woodland daze via wind, string, and buried vox. Perfect for misty morning tent warp and disappearing acts. And there's a bonus track this time around." housecraft

"The barest music can sometimes be the most beautiful. Just like Meursault last year, "V" delivers something truly exceptional from what seems at first to be very little. There are rippling pools of sweet melody here, with spaces in between to absorb the effects and the surrounding harmonies. It doesn't take long for you to be silenced by this delightful music." noiseisafriend
