"This is the latest limited edition release by uk based Gnod and what a trip this is. The Thunderbolt Loop starts things off and is very hypnotic. Bass, different percussion, slowly overtakes your attention for the starting dominant loop. Roofless (edit) is 24 minutes and starts with some chimes and disturbances. Nice chime playing but be patient. At around 8 minutes the chimes go wild and the aliens make the cd player spit the cd out and it is over. Damn… ok... well, could not hear the last 16 minutes of that track but Off Somewhere in a Dingy is like a strange native American Indian chant freakout. Be careful with the peyote." aural innovations

"As if the title of this album wasn't self-deprecating enough, Julian Poidevin, the sole member of The Rural Tradition, even goes so far as to declare its release last year as "spectacularly unsuccessful" on his myspace page. Well, the sales figures might not have been through the roof, but in creative terms this really is quite a find. Sounding remarkably like a down-and-out Nick Drake, Poidevin strings together an album's worth of beautifully dilapidated acoustic narratives, intercut with detuned instrumental interludes spun on xylophone chimes, accordion, melodica and of course, acoustic guitar. in the timid fingerpicked tracts like 'I thought i was intended for a country life' or the daydreaming, Syd Barrett-like 'The nightingale fund', The Rural Tradition's finest qualities really shine through the modest, unnecessarily humble presentation. "Poste E Telegrafi is the debut solo album from Italian guitarist Allesandro Stefana. Featuring an allstar cast including Marc Ribot & Leo Abrahams, Stefana creates a dreamy world of instrumental perfection and beauty. Inspired by the work of Ennio Morricone, Ry Cooder, Simon Jeffes, Steve Reich and Brian Eno, he has created a thoroughly modern Western world within his compositions and arrangements. With constant references to traditional music and rural blues he utilizes electric and acoustic instrumentation with tremendously compelling results. Acoustic, electric, and pedal steel guitars along with banjo, kalimba, baliphones and found objects were all carefully combined with some primitive electronic instruments such as an arpeggiator, omnichord and home made vinyl loops. His sound is entirely original yet clearly rooted in traditions such as Film Music, Blues, Experimental, Ambient and Avante Garde musics. Stefana manages his cast of collaborators very well. Most tracks on Poste E Telegrafi are duets with these musicians keeping the sound and arrangement simple and pure.
