el favorito sello catalán, guerssen, reeditó en un ya lejano 2006 500 copias que volaron de su maravilloso "so far" en una preciosa edición que incluía el ep "another flight" con temas inéditos . todo un rare earth de los que cada vez me cuesta más escribir y que aunque editado en 1982, en realidad todo el álbum lo compuso en los setenta, es fácil sentir ese looser pyschedelic-folk . sin palabras para lady.

"...In the time after I first picked up the guitar but before I decided to ’share’ what evolved I committed these tracks to tape, as sketches and left them behind. I returned to these sketches over the weekend and have added, fiddled and tidied, amongst bloodied dawn’s, crisp riverside walks and intense paranoia…They are more than sketches now, methinks, so I am letting them leave the nest. I hope you dig them. If the songs stir you enough to want them on disc let me know I will see if I can pull something together. All of the songs were recorded in early 2008 so are an early representation of Beggin' Your pardon Miss Joan in it’s infancy (except for Black & White which is a demo I recorded earlier this year)

On another note we have also started putting ideas down for a full length Beggin' Your Pardon Miss Joan record. It feels like the right time!

"I had just purchased a new pickup for my acoustic guitar and had played through several enjoyable sessions in which some music was recorded, and some was lost. The playing of these songs helped to dial down the eustress levels in our apartment a bit, since our daughter Mary had just been born a few rapid days earlier. Two songs were salvaged for this cassette, each recorded on a different day. "I've been in touch with the man recording as Seasons (pre-din) for about a year and a half, during which time my mailbox has been periodically flooded with CDs oozing one gorgeous sound upon another, and I've done my best to return mail across the pond. It only seemed natural then for us to try collaborating on a project. The premise of this project is simply for each musician to craft a piece of music no longer than 11 minutes. We then (as we had done so many times already) send our music off to each other for a listen. Upon listening to each other's music, we each created a 'response' track, borrowing themes, motifs, etc. I think the result has amounted to 40 minutes of work that we are both truly proud of.

Two 3" CDRs, each featuring one original track and one corresponding track. Each disc is housed in a translucent paper sleeve, printed with black ink. Both discs are housed in a large poly sleeve with a printed card insert.

me pasó hace un par de años con o fillo pausado y ha vuelto a suceder ahora con montañas. ¡¡y cómo no iba a pasar con ese nombre!!, es evidente que si en tu vida hay una ventana que deja ver montañas todo cambia, al fín y al cabo somos lo que vivimos, somos el imán de nuestras circunstancias, con nuestros temores sí pero también con nuestros deseos, y por ahí montañas ha encontrado el camino para divertirse y como no, para divertir. así a bote pronto debería sentir cierto reparo ante la velocidad pero lejos de eso me he sentido inmensamente feliz ante la sensación de vértigo y conseguir eso en 9 minutos y 6 segundos suena a genialidad a; "oye, tenéis el don". supongo que todo trasciende las anotaciones meramente musicales, montañas gustan porque son de verdad, orgánicos, no son de plástico, ya saben, el truco es partir de dentro hacia fuera y nunca al revés. asturies, andrín, gatos, burros, picus, piragües (la palabra más bonita del mundo ahora mismo), huertas, dionisios, luarca, silbidos. recomiendo macerar primero y servir después en bucle. el resultado igual de estupendo que la tarta de albaricoque de elena. música para supervivientes como bruno (el panzudo de ahí abajo), para los valientes que abandonan el asfalto por el verde. y si además les digo que uno de los montañas es vegano entenderán más fácilmente el flechazo. de cuando das gracias a quién corresponda por haberte animado a coger el coche hasta peón. gracias elena, gracias walter. como diría terminator, volveré.

This album is all about love and friendship, listening with an acute awareness, feeding off of the surroundings. No pretension, simple and subtle, yet all the more powerful and transcendent. Pentatonic blues runs on the keyboard, hypnotic rhythms and melodies accompanied by toms, tabla, cymbals and tambourine (the only percussion). Religious and ritual-like vocals of the night that serve a prominent role throughout the album. No words, only drones and simple syllables like EY AH OO WAH. Dream loops that linger like a forgotten foundation. This is Niao's most mature, unique work that is tight and together. A craft of sound but it will move you physically as well as mentally. "Cursillistas has been a longtime Digitalis favorite so we're very, very excited to be offering up their newest creation as a vinyl-only release. "Joint Chiefs" sees originator Matt Lajoie joining spirit and forces with Dawn Russell and burning new ground along the way. This is a new path entirely. Where past Cursillistas efforts have been drenched in sunkissed tones and melodic stirrings, "Joint Chiefs" dredges up muddy waters and dark emanations like a blast from the deep. this is barn owl meets the dust bowl meets peyote music. Loose strings ring out on acoustic guitars while rattling percussion marches toward the river. Lajoie and Russell send their voices out on top as a guide, looking for any light that is seeping through the thick, duststorm clouds. Just when it looks like it's going to clear up a bassed-out blanket of fuzz and synth tones come along to ruin all the progress you've made.
